14:1 At that time Aviyah Ben Yarov`am fell sick.
14:2 And Yarov`am said to his wife, "Please arise, and disguise yourself, that they may not recognize you as the wife of Yarov`am, and go to Shiloh. Hinei, there is Achiyah HaNavi, who told me that I would be king over this people.
14:3 Take with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what shall happen to the child."
14:4 And Yarov`am's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the beit Achiyah. But Achiyah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.
14:5Now YHVH (יהוה) had said to Achiyah, "Here is the wife of Yarov`am, comes to seek davar from her son, for he is sick. Thus and thus you shall say to her; for it will be, when she comes in, that she will pretend to be another woman."
14:6 And so it was, when Achiyah heard the sound of her footsteps as she came through the door, he said, "Come in, wife of Yarov`am. Why do you pretend to be another person? For I have been sent to you with bad news.
14:7Go, tell Yarov`am, 'Thus says YHVH (יהוה) Elohei Yisra'el: "Because I exalted you from among the people, and made you ruler over My people Yisra'el,
14:8 And rent the kingdom away from the beit David, and gave it thee: and [yet] thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do [that] only [which was] right in mine eyes;
14:9 But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:
14:10 Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the beit Yarov`am, and will cut off from Yarov`am him that pisseth against the wall, [and] him that is shut up and left in Yisra'el, and will take away the remnant of the beit Yarov`am, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.
14:11 Him that dieth of Yarov`am in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat: for YHVH (יהוה) hath spoken [it].
14:12 Arise thou therefore, get thee to thine own house: [and] when thy feet enter into the city, the child shall die.
14:13 And all Yisra'el shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Yarov`am shall come to the grave, because in him there is found [some] good thing toward YHVH (יהוה) Elohim (אלהים) of Yisra'el in the beit Yarov`am.
14:14 Moreover YHVH (יהוה) shall raise him up a melekh over Yisra'el, who shall cut off the beit Yarov`am that day: but what? even now.
14:15 For YHVH (יהוה) shall smite Yisra'el, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Yisra'el out of this good land, which he gave to their avot, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking YHVH (יהוה) to anger.
14:16 And he shall give Yisra'el up because of the sins of Yarov`am, who did sin, and who made Yisra'el to sin.
14:17 And Yarov`am's wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: [and] when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died;
14:18 And they buried him; and all Yisra'el mourned for him, according to the Dvar YHVH (יהוה), which he spake by the hand of his servant Achiyah ha Navi.
14:19 And the rest of the acts of Yarov`am, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yisra'el.
14:20 And the days which Yarov`am reigned [were] two and twenty years: and he slept with his avot, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.
14:21 And Rehovo'am Ben Sh'lomo reigned in Yehudah. Rehovo'am [was] forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Yerushalayim, the city which YHVH (יהוה) did choose out of all the tribes of Yisra'el, to put his name there. And his mother's name [was] Naamah an Ammonitess.
14:22 And Yehudah did evil in the sight of YHVH (יהוה), and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their avot had done.
14:23 For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.
14:24 And there were also sodomites in the land: [and] they did according to all the abominations of the nations which YHVH (יהוה) cast out before the children of Yisra'el.
14:25 And it came to pass in the fifth year of melekh Rehovo'am, [that] Shishak melekh Mitzrayim came up against Yerushalayim:
14:26 And he took away the treasures of the Beit YHVH (יהוה), and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Sh'lomo had made.
14:27 And melekh Rehovo'am made in their stead brasen shields, and committed [them] unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king's house.
14:28 And it was [so], when the melekh went into the Beit YHVH (יהוה), that the guard bare them, and brought them back into the guard chamber.
14:29 Now the rest of the acts of Rehovo'am, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yehudah?
14:30 And there was war between Rehovo'am and Yarov`am all [their] days.
14:31 And Rehovo'am slept with his avot, and was buried with his avot in the city of David. And his mother's name [was] Naamah an Ammonitess. And Aviyam his son reigned in his stead.

Shishak or Susac (Hebrew: שישק) or Shishaq is the biblical Hebrew form of the first ancient Mitzrayimian name of a pharaoh mentioned in the Bible.
Archaeologists discovered some sculptures upon the walls of Thebes in ancient Mitzrayim at the magnificent temple of Karnak.Among them was this figure above of an enemy captive with his arms tied behind his back, with a shield covering him. Upon the shield was written in Mitzrayim hieroglyphics: "Yehudah-Melek-Land" which means "the kingdom of Yehudah."
