Tola the seventh judge (23 years)
10:1 And after Avi-Melekh there arose to defend Yisrael Tola Ben Puah, Ben Dodo, a man of Yissakhar; and he dwelt in Shamir in har Efrayim.
10:2 And he judged Yisrael twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.
Ya'ir the eighth judge (22 years)
10:3 And after him arose Ya'ir, a Gil'adiite, and judged Yisrael twenty and two years.
10:4 And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty donkeys, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth-Ya'ir to this day, which [are] in the eretz Gil'adi.
10:5 And Ya'ir died, and was buried in Kamon.
Servitude under Pelishtim and Ammonites (18 years)
10:6 And Benai Yisrael did evil again in the sight of ADONAI (יהוה), and served ba'alim, and Ashtaroth, and the elohi (gods, אלהי) of Syria, and the elohi (gods, אלהי) of Tzidon, and the elohi (gods, אלהי) of Moav, and the elohi (gods, אלהי) of Benai Amon, and the elohi (gods, אלהי) of the Pelishtim , and forsook ADONAI (יהוה), and served not him.
10:7 And the anger of ADONAI (יהוה) was hot against Yisrael, and he sold them into the hands of the Pelishtim , and into the hands of Benai Amon.
10:8 And that year they vexed and oppressed Benai Yisrael: eighteen years, all Benai Yisrael that [were] on the other side Yarden in the eretz the Emorities, which [is] in Gil'adi.
10:9 Moreover Benai Amon passed over Yarden to fight also against Yehudah (יהודה), and against BenYamin, and against the bayit Efrayim; so that Yisrael was sore distressed.
10:10 And Benai Yisrael cried to ADONAI (יהוה), saying, We have sinned against you, both because we have forsaken our Elohim (אלהים), and also served ba'alim.
10:11 And ADONAI (יהוה) said to Benai Yisrael, [Did] not [I deliver you] from the Mityrayim, and from the Emorities, from Benai Amon, and from the Pelishtim ?
10:12 The Tzidonians also, and the Amalek (עמלק), and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to Me, and I delivered you out of their hand.
10:13 Yet ye have forsaken Me, and served other elohi (gods, אלהי): wherefore I will deliver you no more.
10:14 Go and cry to the elohi (gods, אלהי) which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.
10:15 And Benai Yisrael said to ADONAI (יהוה), We have sinned: do you to us whatsoever seemeth good to thee; deliver us only, we pray you, this day.
10:16 And they put away the strange elohi (gods, אלהי) from among them, and served ADONAI (יהוה): and his nefesh was grieved for the misery of Yisrael.
10:17 Then Benai Amon were gathered together, and encamped in Gil'adi. And Benai Yisrael assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mitzpeh.
10:18 And the people [and] princes of Gil'adi said one to another, What man [is he] that will begin to fight against Benai Amon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gil'adi.
