Kefa-Bet Chapter 1 Messianic Jewish Perspective

1:1   From: Shim`on Kefa, a bond-servant and Shliach of Yeshua (יֵשוּעַMashiach, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our Elohim and Saviour, Yeshua (יֵשוּעַ) Mashiach

1:2  Grace (chen) and shalom be multiplied to you through the knowledge of Elohim, and of Yeshua (יֵשוּעַ) Adoneinu,

Confirm Your Calling and Election

1:3for His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and chasidut, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

1:4 Through these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partner-relationship of the divine nature (טבע האלוהי), having escaped the corruption that is in the world on account of evil inclination.

1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith(emunah אֱמוּנָה) supply with moral excellence (ma'alah מַעֲלָה); and to moral goodness with knowledge (da'at דַּעַת);

1:6 and in your knowledge, self-control (自制 Histappekut הִסְתַּפְּקוּת), and in your self-control, perseverance (恆心Savlanut), and in your perseverance, chasidut (piety, set apart life kedushah 虔敬);

1:7 And to chasidut (piety) brotherly affection (弟兄的仁慈 Philos Achavah); and to brotherly affection love (無私的愛Agape).

Productivity in Personal Faith 8-11

1:8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of Adoneinu Yeshua (יֵשוּעַ) Mashiach. (更深認識我們的主耶穌基督)

1:9  But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never stumble:

1:11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of Adoneinu and Moshi'a Yeshua (יֵשוּעַ) Mashiach.

Perpetual Reminders of Faith 2 Peter 1:12-15

1:12 Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you.

1:13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting [you] in remembrance;

1:14 knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also Adoneinu Yeshua (יֵשוּעַ) Mashiach has made clear to me.

1:15 Moreover I will endeavour that you may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

Kefa’s Recollect on Messiah's Glory and the Prophetic Word 16-18

1:16 For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of Adoneinu Yeshua (יֵשוּעַ) Mashiach, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

1:17 For when He received honor and glory from Elohim the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, "This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased"—

1:18 and we ourselves heard this utterance made from heaven when we were with Him on the Set-Apart mountain.

1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereto you do well that you take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but set apart men of Elohim spoke [as they were] moved by the set apart Ruach.
