2:1 I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and hinei a man with a measuring line in his hand.
2:2 Then said I, Whither goes thou? And he said to me, To measure Yerushalayim, to see what [is] the breadth thereof, and what [is] the length thereof.
2:3 And, hinei, the messenger that talked with me went forth, and another messenger went out to meet him,
2:4 And said to him, Run, speak to this young man (Zecharyahu), saying, Yerushalayim shall be inhabited [as] towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:
2:5 For I, said ADONAI (יהוה), will be to her a wall of fire round about, and will be the kavod in the midst of her.
2:6 Ho, ho, [come forth], and flee from the land the Tzafon (north), said ADONAI (יהוה): for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, said ADONAI (יהוה).
2:7 Deliver thyself, O Tzyon, that dwells [with] the bat Bavel.
2:8 For thus said ADONAI (יהוה) Tzva'ot:
After the kavod has he sent me to the nations which spoiled you: for he that touches you touches the apple of his eye.
2:9 For, hinei, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their avadim: and ye shall know that ADONAI (יהוה) Tzva'ot has sent me.
2:10 Sing and rejoice, O Bat Tzyon: for, hinei, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, said ADONAI (יהוה).
2:11 And many nations shall be joined to ADONAI (יהוה) B'Yom ha Hu, and shall be My people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shall know that ADONAI (יהוה) Tzva'ot has sent me to thee.
2:12 And ADONAI (יהוה) shall inherit Yehudah his portion in the land Kodesh, and shall choose Yerushalayim again.
2:13 Be silent, O all flesh, before ADONAI (יהוה): for he is raised up out of his meon (inhabitation) kodesh .
