The Three Distinct Galilean Signs in Yochanan 2, 4 6
Yochanan04 Yeshua and the Shomron Nameless woman in the well from Messianic Jewish perspective
Yeshua and Shomeron the Nameless Woman
Vayhi ka'asher
noda la'adon ki shame'u happerushim asher yeshua he'emid vegam hitbil talmidim harbeh myochanan.
Therefore, when the Master knew that the Perushim (פְּרוּשִׁים) had heard that Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) was
making and immersing Talmidim than Yochanan (יוֹחָנָן),
4:2
(Although Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) Himself was not immersing rather, but His Talmidim were,)
4:3
He left Yehudah, and departed again into Galil.
4:4 ¶ And he must needs go through Shomeron.
Vayavo le'ir me'arei shomeron ushemah suchar mimmul chelkat hasadeh asher-natan ya'akov leyosef beno.
Then He came to a *city
of Shomeron, which is called Tel-Sh'khem (Suchar), near to the parcel of ground that Ya'akov gave to his son Yosef.
Genesis 33:19; 48:22; Joshua 24:32
4:6
Now Ya'akov's be'er (well) was there. Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) therefore, being
wearied with [his] journey, sat thus on the be'er (well): [and] it was about the sixth hour.
4:7
There comes a woman of Shomeron to draw mayim: Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) *said to her, "Give Me to drink".
4:8
(For his Talmidim were gone away to the city to buy
okhel (food).
4:9
Then the woman of Shomeron *said to Him:
"How is it that
You, being a Yehudim, ask drink of me, a
Shomeron woman? For the Yehudim do not associate with those of Shomeron."
[EZRA 4:3-6; 9:1-10:44]
4:10
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) answered and said to her:
"If you had known the gift of Elohim, and who it is that says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given to you living water."
[YESHAYAH 44:3; 55:1; YIRMEYAH 2:13; 17:13; ZECHARYAH 14:8].
4:11
The woman*said to Him:
"Sir,
You have nothing to draw with, and the be'er (well) is deep. Where then do You get that living water?
4:12
Are You greater than Avinu Ya'akov, who gave us the be'er (well), and drank of it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?"
4:13
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) answered and said to her:
"Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,
4:14
But whoever drinks of the water which I shall give him will by no means ever thirst again. But the water which I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into eternal life."
4:15
The woman*said to him:
"Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw."
4:16
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע)*said to her:
"Go, call your husband, and come here."
4:17
The woman answered and said:
I have no husband.
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) *said
to her:
"You have said well, 'I have no husband,'

4:18
"For you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in this you have said truly."
4:19
The woman *said to him:
"Sir, I perceive that You are a Navi.
4:20
Avinu worshipped on this mountain, and you Yehudim say that in Yerushalayim is the place where men ought to worship.
4:21
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) *said to her:
Woman, believe Me, the hour comes, when you shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Yerushalayim,
worship ha AVI.
4:22
You worship you know not what: we know what we worship: for
salvation is of the Yehudim.
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and Truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
Elohim (אלהים) is a Spirit: and they
that worship Him must worship
Him in Spirit and in Truth.
4:25
The woman *said to Him:
"I know that
Mashiach is coming"(that
is "the one who has been anointed")
"When He comes, He will proclaim to us all things."
4:26
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) *said to her:
"Ani Hu (I am He), the One speaking to you."
4:27 ¶ And at this point His Talmidim came, and they marveled that He was speaking with a woman;however
no one said, "What do You seek?" or, "Why are You speaking with her?"
4:28
The woman then left her water jar, and went her way into the city, and *said to the people,
4:29
Come, see a man, which told Me all things that ever I did:
is not this the Mashiach?
4:30
Then they went out of the city, and came to him.
4:31
In the mean while his Talmidim prayed him, saying, Rebbe,
eat.
4:32
But he said to them, I have okhel (food) to eat that you know not
of.
4:33
Therefore said the Talmidim one to another, has any man
brought him [ought] to eat?
4:34 Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) *said to them:
My okhel
(food) is to do the will of him
that sent Me, and to finish his work.
4:35 Do you not say, 'There are still four months and the harvest comes'? Behold,
I say to you, lift up your eyes and see the fields, for they are already white
for harvest! ![]()
4:36
And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit
to life eternal: that both he that sows and he that reaps
may rejoice together.
4:37
And herein is that saying true, One sows, and another
reaps.
4:38
I sent you to reap that whereon you bestowed no labour:
other men laboured, and you are entered into their labours.
4:39
And many of the Shomeron of that city believed on him for
the saying of the woman, which testified, He told Me all that ever I did.
4:40
So when the Shomeron were come to Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע), they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.
4:41
And many more believed because of His Word;
4:42
And said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard [him] ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Mashiach, the Mashi'a HaOlam (the
deliverer, Goel haOlam).
4:43 ¶ Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galil.
4:44
For Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) Himself testified, that a Navi has no honour
in his own country.
4:45
Therefore when He came into Galil, the Galileans received Him, having seen
all the things which He did in Yerushalayim at the feast; for they also went to the feast.
Yeshua Heals an Official's Son
4:46
Then Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) came again into kanah of Galil, where He made the
water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was
sick at K'far-Nachum.
4:47
When he heard that Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) had
come out of Yehudah into
Galil, he went to Him, and asked Him that he would come
down, and heal his son: for he was about to die.
4:48
Then said Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) to him:
"Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe."
4:49
The nobleman said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies!"
4:50
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) said to him:
"Go your
way, your son lives." So the man believed the word that Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) spoke to him and he went his way.
4:51
And already as he was going, his servants met him and reported, saying, "Your son lives!"
4:52
Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend.
And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever
left him.
4:53
Therefore the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) said to him, "Your son lives." And he himself believed, and his whole household.
4:54
This [is] again the second miracle [that] Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) did, when
he was come out of Yehudah into Galil.
Tel-Sh'khem - Sychar

Sychar; of Hebrew origin shekar: intoxicating drink, strong drink Original Word: שֵׁכָר falsehood Sychar, a town of Samaria, near to the well of the patriarch Yaakov, and not far from Flavia Neapolis . Yeshua reached the fork of an old Roman road, just south of Sychar at the site of present-day Askar, with Yosef's tomb near-by. To the w.n.w of Sychar or Askar is Gerizim, the mount of the blessing (Devarim 27:12). Behind Askar and to the n.e. of Gerizim rises the more elevated Eval, the mount of the curse (Devarim 27:13). It was a City as given up to idolatry (cf. Habakkuk 2:18), or the word שִׁכֹּר, 'drunken' (on account of Yeshayahu 28:1)
4:16 - There is an abrupt change in the conversation here.; She had just asked for the water, and the Master Yeshua told here to go and call her husband. Why? Yeshua knew all about the sinful life she had lived, and He was going to lead her, step by step, to see it for herself.. Before this woman could be saved, she must acknowledge herself a sinner. She must come to Mashiach in true repentance, confessing her guilt and shame.
4:23 Yeshua tells the Shomeron woman that with His coming, HaShem הי no longer require fixture of a certain place on earth for worship. Now those who believe on the Master Yeshua can worship HaShem הי at any time and in any place. True worship means that a believer enters the presence of HaShem הי by faith and there praises and worships Him. Our physical body may be in a den, prison, or field, but our spirit can draw near to HaShem הי in the heavenly sanctuary by faith. Yeshua announced to the Shomeron woman that from now on worship of the Father would be in spirit and truth.
Yaakov's Well (Arabic: بئر يعقوب, Bir Ya'qub, Hebrew: באר יעקב; also known as Yaakov's fountain and Well of Sychar)
is a deep well hewn of solid rock. It is situated 76 meters (249 ft) a short distance from the archaeological site of Tell Balata
in the eastern part of the city of Nablus, which is thought to be the site of biblical Shechem.
Principle of Worship
Worship is offering praise to HaShem הי for who He is - the greatness of His person. For what He has done for us - the greatness
of His work. When we worship, we are giving to HaShem הי not asking Him to give something to us. Worship always brings joy to us as well. The Chief end of man is to glorify
[praise and honour] HaShem הי, and to enjoy Him forever. Worship can comes in form of prayer, dance worship, reading a portion of scripture and sing song of worship.
