6:1 On that night hamelekh could not sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the divrei hayamim; and they were read before ha melekh.
6:2 And it was found written, that Mordechai (מרדּכי) had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of ha melekh's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on ha melekh Achashverosh .
6:3 And ha melekh said:
What honour and dignity have been done to Mordechai (מרדּכי) for this?
Then said ha melekh's avadim that ministered to him:
There is nothing done for him.
6:4 And ha melekh said:
Who [is] in the court?
Now Haman (המן) was come into the outward court of ha melekh's house, to speak to ha melekh to hang Mordechai (מרדּכי) on the gallows that he had prepared for him.
6:5 And ha melekh's avadim said to him, Behold, Haman (המן) standeth in the court. And ha melekh said, Let him come in.
6:6 So Haman (המן) came in. And ha melekh said to him, What shall be done to the man whom ha melekh delights to honour? Now Haman (המן) thought in his heart, To whom would ha melekh delight to do honour more than to myself?
6:7 And Haman (המן) answered ha melekh, For the man whom ha melekh delights to honour,
6:8 Let the royal apparel be brought which ha melekh [useth] to wear, and the horse that ha melekh rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head:
6:9 And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of ha melekh's most noble princes, that they may array the man [withal] whom ha melekh delights to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom ha melekh delights to honour.
6:10 Then ha melekh said to Haman (המן), Make haste, [and] take the apparel and the horse, as you hast said, and do even so to Mordechai (מרדּכי) the Yehudi, that sitteth at ha melekh's gate: let nothing fail of all that you hast spoken.
6:11 Then took Haman (המן) the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordechai (מרדּכי), and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom ha melekh delights to honour.
6:12 And Mordechai (מרדּכי) came again to ha melekh's gate. But Haman (המן) hasted to his house mourning, and having his head covered.
6:13 And Haman (המן) told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every [thing] that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife to him, If Mordechai (מרדּכי) [be] of the seed of the Yehudim, before whom you hast begun to fall, you shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.
6:14 And while they [were] yet talking with him, came ha melekh's chamberlains, and hasted to bring Haman (המן) to the mishteh (banquet) that Ester had prepared.
