40:1 (RY:vii, LY:v) Order to set up
And Adonai (יהוה) spoke to Mosheh, saying:
40:2 ביום־החדשׁ הראשׁון באחד לחדשׁ תקים את־משׁכן אהל מועד׃
Beyom-haChodesh harishon beechad lachodesh takim et-Tabernacle Ohel moed:
"On the first day of the first month you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.
40:3 You shall put in it the Aron HaEdut, and partition off the ark with the Parokhet.
40:4 You shall bring in the Shulchan and arrange the things that are to be set in order on it; and you shall bring in the menorah and light its Nerot.
40:5 And you shall set the mizbeach (altar) of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the Tabernacle.
40:6 And you shall set the mizbeach (altar) of the olah before the door of the Tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting.
40:7 And you shall set the kiyor (laver) between the Tent of Meeting and the mizbeach (altar), and shall put water therein.
40:8 And you shall set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate.
40:9 And you shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the Tabernacle, and all that [is] therein, and shall hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be kodesh.
40:10 And you shall anoint the mizbeach (altar) of the olah, and all his vessels, and sanctify the mizbeach (altar): and it shall be an mizbeach (altar) most kodesh.
40:11 And you shall anoint the kiyor (laver) and his foot, and sanctify it.
40:12 And you shall bring Aharon and his banim to the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water.
40:13 And you shall put upon Aharon the kodesh garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister to me in the kohen's office.
40:14 And you shall bring his banim, and clothe them with coats:
40:15 And you shall anoint them, as you didst anoint their father, that they may minister to me in the kohen's office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting kehunnah (priesthood) throughout their generations.
40:16 Thus did Mosheh: according to all that , so did he.
40:17 (LY:vi) The Tabernacle Raised
ויהי בחדשׁ הראשׁון בשׁנה השׁנית באחד לחדשׁ הוקם המשׁכן׃
Vayehi bachodesh harishon bashanah hashenit beechad lachodesh hukam haTabernacle:
And it came to pass in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was raised up.
40:18 And Mosheh reared up the Tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.
40:19 And he spread abroad the ohel (tent) over the Tabernacle, and put the covering of the ohel (tent) above upon it;

40:20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the kapporet above upon the ark:
40:21 And he brought the ark into the Tabernacle, and set up thePoreket (vail, curtain) of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony;

40:22 And he put the table in the Tent of Meeting, upon the side of the Tabernacle northward, without the Poreket (vail, curtain).
40:23 And he set the bread in order upon it before Adonai (יהוה);

40:24 And he put the menorah in the Tent of Meeting , over against the table, on the side of the Tabernacle southward.
40:25 And he lighted the nerot (lamps) before Adonai (יהוה);

40:26 And he put the golden mizbeach (altar) in the Tent of Meeting before the Poreket (vail, curtain):
40:27 And he burnt sweet incense thereon;

40:28 (LY:vii) The Final Curtain
And he set up the hanging [at] the door of the Tabernacle.
40:29 And he put the mizbeach (altar) of olah [by] the door of the Tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting, and offered upon it the olah and the minchah;

40:30 And he set the kiyor (laver) between the Tent of Meeting and the mizbeach (altar), and put water there, to wash [withal].
40:31 And Mosheh and Aharon and his banim washed their hands and their feet thereof:
40:32 When they went into the Tent of Meeting, and when they came near to the mizbeach (altar), they washed;

40:33 And he reared up the court round about the Tabernacle and the mizbeach (altar), and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Mosheh finished the work.
40:34 (Maftir) Spirit filled Glory!
Then a cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the kavod Adonai (יהוה) filled the Tabernacle.
40:35 וְלֹא-יָכֹל מֹשֶה לָבוֹא אֶל-אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד כִּי-שָכַן עָלָיו הֶעָנָן וּכְבוֹד יְהֹוָהמָלֵא אֶת-הַמִּשְכָּן׃
Velo-yachol Mosheh lavo el-'ohel mo'ed ki-shachan alav he'anan uchevod Adonai malei et-hamishkan.
And Mosheh was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting, because the Cloud rested on it, and the glory of Adonai (יהוה) filled the Tabernacle.
40:36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the Tabernacle, the benai Yisrael went onward in all their journeys:
40:37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
40:38 For the cloud of Adonai (יהוה) [was] upon the Tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the beit Yisrael, throughout all their journeys.

חֲזַק! חֲזַק! וְנִתְחַזֵּק!
Chazak! chazak! v'nit Chazak!
Be strong, Be Strong, and May we be strengthened!
