לא־יבוזו לי׃
Mi
yitenkha keakh li yonek shedei imi emtzaakha vakhutz eshakkha gam lo-yavuzu li:
O that
thou [wert] as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! [when] I
should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised.
8:2אנהגך
אביאך אל־בית
אמי תלמדני
אשׁקך מיין הרקח
מעסיס רמני׃
Enhagakha
aviakha el-beit imi telamdeni ashkekha miyayin harekakh measis rimoni:
I would
lead thee, [and] bring thee into my mother's house, [who] would instruct me: I
would cause thee to drink of spiced yayin (wine) of the juice of my rimmon
(pmegranate).
8:3שׂמאלו
תחת ראשׁי
וימינו
תחבקני׃
se mo lo
ta khat ro shi vi mi no te khab ke ni:
His left
hand [should be] under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
8:4השׁבעתי
אתכם בנות
ירושׁלם
מה־תעירו
ומה־תעררו
את־האהבה עד
שׁתחפץ׃
Hishbati
etkhem benot Yerushalayim mah-tairu umah-teorru et-haahavah ad shetekhpatz:
I charge
you, O banot Yerushalayim, that ye stir not up, nor awake [my] dod (love),
until he please.

מן־המדבר
מתרפקת
על־דודה תחת
התפוח
עוררתיך שׁמה
חבלתך אמך
שׁמה חבלה
ילדתך׃
Mi zot olah min-hamidbar mitrapeket al-Dodah takhat
hatapuakh orartikha shamah khiblatkha imekha shamah khiblah yeladatkha:
Who [is]
this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her dod? I raised thee up
under
the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee
forth [that] bare thee.

כחותם על־לבך
כחותם
על־זרועך
כי־עזה כמות
אהבה קשׁה
כשׁאול קנאה
רשׁפיה רשׁפי
אשׁ
שׁלהבתיה׃
Simeni
khakhotam al-libekha kakhotam al-zeroekha ki-azah khamavet ahavah kashah
khishol kinah reshafei harishpei esh shalhevetya:
Set me
as a seal upon thine lev, as a seal upon thine arm: for dod (love) [is] strong
as death; jealousy [is] cruel as the grave: the coals thereof [are] coals of
fire, [which hath a] most vehement flame.
8:7מים רבים
לא יוכלו לכבות
את־האהבה
ונהרות לא
ישׁטפוה
אם־יתן אישׁ
את־כל־הון
ביתו באהבה
בוז יבוזו לו׃
Mayim
rabim lo yukhlu lekhabot et-haahavah uneharot lo yishtefuha im-yiten ish
et-kol-hon beito baahavah bozyavuzu lo:
Many
waters cannot quench dod (love), neither can the floods drown it: if [a] man
would give all the substance of his house for dod (love), it would utterly be
contemned.

8:8אחות לנו
קטנה ושׁדים
אין לה
מה־נעשׂה
לאחתנו ביום
שׁידבר־בה׃
Akhot
lanu ketanah veshadayim ein lah mah-naaseh laakhotenu bayom sheidubar-bah:
We have
a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in
the day when she shall be spoken for?
8:9אם־חומה
היא נבנה עליה
טירת כסף
ואם־דלת היא נצור
עליה לוח ארז׃
Im-khomah
hi nivneh aleihah tirat kasef veim-delet hi natzur aleiha luakh arez:
If she
[be] a wall, we will build upon her a palace of Kesef: and if she [be] a door,
we will inclose her with boards of cedar.
8:10אני חומה
ושׁדי
כמגדלות אז הייתי
בעיניו
כמוצאת
שׁלום׃
Ani
khomah veshadai kamigdalot az hayiti veeinav kemotzet shalom:
I [am] a
wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found
favour.
8:11כרם היה לשׁלמה
בבעל המון נתן
את־הכרם
לנטרים אישׁ
יבא בפריו אלף
כסף׃
Kerem
hayah liShlomoh bevaal hamon natan
et-hakerem lanotrim ish yavi befiryo elef kasef:
Shlomo
had a vineyard at Baal-Hamon;
he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to
bring a thousand [pieces] of Kesef.
8:12כרמי שׁלי
לפני האלף לך שׁלמה
ומאתים
לנטרים
את־פריו׃
Karmi
sheli lefanai haelef lekha Shelomoh
umatayim lenotrim et-piryo:
My
vineyard, which [is] mine, [is] before me: thou, O Shlomo, [must have] a
thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.
8:13היושׁבת
בגנים חברים
מקשׁיבים
לקולך השׁמיעיני׃
Hayoshevet
baganim khaverim makshivim lekolekh hashemiini:
Thou
that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to
hear [it].
8:14ברח דודי
ודמה־לך לצבי
או לעפר
האילים על הרי
בשׂמים׃
Berakh
Dodi udemeh-lekha litzvi ole ofer haayalim al harei vesamim:
Make
haste, my dod, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains
of spices.
