58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a shofar, and show My people their pesha (transgression), and the Beit Yaakov their chattot (sins).
58:2 Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did tzeddek, and forsook not the ordinance of their Elohim (אלהים): they ask of me the mishpetei-tzedek (ordinances of justice); they take delight in approaching to Elohim (אלהים).
58:3 Wherefore have we fasted, [say they], and you seest not? [wherefore] have we afflicted our nefesh, and you takest no knowledge? Hinei, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
58:4 Hinei, you fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: you shall not fast as [ye do this] day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
58:5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his nefesh? [is it] to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes [under him]? will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to ADONAI (יהוה)?
58:6 [Is] not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every motah (yoke מוטה)?
58:7 [Is it] not to deal your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house? when you seest the naked, that you cover him; and that you hide not yourself from your own flesh?
58:8 Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: and your tzeddek shall go before you; the kavod of ADONAI (יהוה) shall be your rereward.
58:9 Then shall you call, and ADONAI (יהוה) shall answer; you shall cry, and he shall say, Here I [am]. If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
58:10 And [if] you draw out your nefesh to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted nefesh; then shall your light rise in obscurity, and your darkness [be] as the noonday:
58:11 And ADONAI (יהוה) shall guide you continually, and satisfy your nefesh in drought, and make fat your bones: and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of mayim, whose mayim fail not.
58:12 And [they that shall be] of you shall build the old waste places: you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Im-tashiv mishabat raglekha ashoot khafatzeikha beyom kadshi vekarata laShabat Oneg likdosh ADONAI mekhubad vekhibadto mea`shoot derakheikha mimtzo kheftzekha vedaber Davar:
If you turn away your foot from [traveling unduly on] the Shabbat, from doing your own pleasure on My Set Apart Day, and call the Shabbat a [spiritual] delight, the Set Apart of ADONAI honorable, and honor Him and it, not going your own way or seeking or finding your own pleasure or speaking with your own [idle] words,

Then will you delight yourself in ADONAI, and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth, and I will feed you with the heritage [promised for you] of Ya'akov your father:
For the mouth of ADONAI has spoken it. [Bersheet 27:28, 29; 28:13-15.]
