13:1 Let every nefesh is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from Elohim (אלהים), and those which exist are ordained by Elohim (אלהים).
13:2 Whosoever therefore resists authority has opposed the ordinance of Elohim (אלהים): and they that resist shall receive to condemnation upon.
13:3 For judges are not a fear to good works, but to the evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do that which is good, and you shall have praise of the same:
13:4 For he is the minister of Elohim (אלהים) to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of Elohim (אלהים), a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that does evil.
13:5 Wherefore [you] must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
13:6 For for this cause pay you tribute also: for they are avadim Elohim (אלהים), devoting themselves to this very thing.
13:7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to who customs, respect to who respect, honour to whom honour.
13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the Torah.
13:9 For this, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.
13:10 Love works no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the Torah.
13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.
13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13:13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in revelry and drunkeness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.
13:14 But put you on Adonay Yehoshua (יהושע) ha Mashiach, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof].
