13:1 And Davyid consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, [and] with every leader.
13:2 And Davyid said unto all the congregation of Yisra'el, If [it seem] good unto you, and [that it be] of YHWH (יהוה) our Elohim (אלהים), let us send abroad unto our achim every where, [that are] left in all the eretz Yisra'el, and with them [also] to the kohenim and Leviim [which are] in their cities [and] suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:
13:3 And let us bring again the ark of our Elohim (אלהים) to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Shaul.
13:4 And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
13:5 So Davyid gathered all Yisra'el together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of Elohim (אלהים) from Kirjathjearim.
13:6 And Davyid went up, and all Yisra'el, to Baalah, [that is], to Kirjathjearim, which [b'elonged] to Yehudah, to bring up thence the ark of Elohim (אלהים) YHWH (יהוה), that dw'elleth [between] the kerubims, whose name is called [on it].
13:7 And they carried the ark of Elohim (אלהים) in a new cart out of the bayit of Avinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.
13:8 And Davyid and all Yisra'el played before Elohim (אלהים) with all [their] might, and with singing, and with kinnorot, and with nevalim, and with timbr'els, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
13:9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
13:10 And the anger of YHWH (יהוה) was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before Elohim (אלהים).
13:11 And Davyid was displeased, because YHWH (יהוה) had made a break upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day.
13:12 And Davyid was afraid of Elohim (אלהים) that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of Elohim (אלהים) [home] to me?
13:13 So Davyid brought not the ark [home] to hims'elf to the city of Davyid, but carried it aside into the bayit of Ovededom the Gittite.
13:14 And the ark of Elohim (אלהים) remained with the family of Ovededom in his bayit three months. And YHWH (יהוה) blessed the bayit of Ovededom, and all that he had.
