15:1 And [Davyid] made him bayits in the city of Davyid, and prepared a place for the ark of Elohim (אלהים), and pitched for it a tent.
15:2 Then Davyid said, None ought to carry the ark of Elohim (אלהים) but the Leviim: for them hath YHWH (יהוה) kosen to carry the ark of Elohim (אלהים), and to minister unto him for ever.
15:3 And Davyid gathered all Yisra'el together to Yerushalayim, to bring up the ark of YHWH (יהוה) unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
15:4 And Davyid assembled the benai Aharon, and the Leviim:
15:5 Of the benai Kohat; Uri'el the chief, and his achim an hundred and twenty:
15:6 Of the benai Merari; Asayah the chief, and his achim two hundred and twenty:
15:7 Of the benai Gershom; Yo'el the chief, and his achim an hundred and thirty:
15:8 Of the benai Elizafan; Shemayah the chief, and his achim two hundred:
15:9 Of the benai Chevron; Eli'el the chief, and his achim fourscore:
15:10 Of the benai Uzzi'el; Amminadab the chief, and his achim an hundred and twelve.
15:11 And Davyid called for Tzadok and Aviathar the kohenim, and for the Leviim, for Uri'el, Asayah, and Yo'el, Shemayah, and Eli'el, and Amminadab,
15:12 And said unto them, Ye [are] the sarei ha'avot of the Leviim: sanctify yourselves, [both] ye and your achim, that ye may bring up the ark of YHWH (יהוה) Elohim (אלהים) of Yisra'el unto [the place that] I have prepared for it.
15:13 For because ye [did it] not at the first, YHWH (יהוה) our Elohim (אלהים) made a break upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
15:14 So the kohenim and the Leviim sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of YHWH (יהוה) Elohim (אלהים) of Yisra'el.
15:15 And the benai the Leviim bare the ark of Elohim (אלהים) upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Mosheh commanded according to the word of YHWH (יהוה).
15:16 And Davyid spake to the chief of the Leviim to appoint their achim [to be] the singers with instruments of musick, nevalim and kinnorot and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
15:17 So the Leviim appointed Heman Ben Yo'el; and of his achim, Asaf Ben Berekyah; and of the benai Merari their achim, Ethan Ben Kushayah;
15:18 And with them their achim of the second [degree], Zekaryah, Ben, and Yaazi'el, and Shemiramoth, and Yehi'el, and Unni, Eli'av, and Benayah, and Maaseyah, and Mattithyah, and Elif'eleh, and Mikneyah, and Ovededom, and Yei'el, the sho'arim (gatekeepers).
15:19 So the singers, Heman, Asaf, and Ethan, [were appointed] to sound with cymbals of nechoshet (brass; bronze);
15:20 And Zekaryah, and Azi'el, and Shemiramoth, and Yehi'el, and Unni, and Eli'av, and Maaseyah, and Benayah, with nevalim on Alamoth;
15:21 And Mattithyah, and Elif'eleh, and Mikneyah, and Ovededom, and Yei'el, and Azazyah, with kinnorot on the Sheminith to excel.
15:22 And Chenanyah, chief of the Leviim, [was] for song: he instructed about the song, because he [was] skilful.
15:23 And Berekyah and Elkanah [were] doorkeepers for the ark.
15:24 And Shebanyah, and Yehoshafat, and Nethane'el, and Amasai, and Zekaryah, and Benayah, and Eliezer, the kohenim, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of Elohim (אלהים): and Ovededom and Yehyah [were] doorkeepers for the ark.
15:25 So Davyid, and the zekenim of Yisra'el, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of YHWH (יהוה) out of the bayit of Ovededom with joy.
15:26 And it came to pass, when Elohim (אלהים) helped the Leviim that bare the ark of the covenant of YHWH (יהוה), that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
15:27 And Davyid [was] clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Leviim that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenanyah the master of the song with the singers: Davyid also [had] upon him an efod of linen.
15:28 Thus all Yisra'el brought up the ark of the covenant of YHWH (יהוה) with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with nevalim and kinnorot.
15:29 And it came to pass, [as] the ark of the covenant of YHWH (יהוה) came to the city of Davyid, that Mikal the daughter of Shaul looking out at a window saw king Davyid dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
