26:1 Concerning the divisions of the sho'arim (gatekeepers):
Of the Korachites [was] Meshelemyah Ben Kore, of Benai Asaf.
26:2 And Benai Meshelemyah [were]:
Zekaryah the firstborn,
Yedia'el the second,
Zevadyah the third,
Yathni'el the fourth,
26:3 Elam the fifth,
Yehochanan the sixth,
Ely'ho'enai the seventh.
26:4 Moreover Benai Oved-Edom [were],
Shemayah the firstborn,
Yehozavad the second,
Yoach the third, and
Sakar the fourth, and
N'tan'el the fifth,
26:5 Ammi'el the sixth,
Yissakhar the seventh,
Peulthai the eighth: for Elohim (אלהים) blessed him.
26:6 Also unto Shemayah beno were banim born, that ruled throughout the Beit their father: for they [were] mighty men of valour.
26:7 Benai Shemayah; Otni, and Refa'el, and Oved, Elzavad, whose achim [were] strong men, Elihu, and Semakhyah.
26:8 All these of Benai Oved-Edom: they and their banim and their achim, able men for strength for the avodah (service), [were] threescore and two of Oved-Edom.
26:9 And Meshelemyah had banim and achim, strong men, eighteen.
26:10 Also Hosah, of the benai Merari, had banim:
Shimri the chief,
(for [though] he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him the chief;)
26:11 Hilkiyah the second,
Tebalyah the third,
Zekaryah the fourth:
all Benai and achim of Hosah [were] thirteen.
26:12 Among these [were] the divisions of the sho'arim (gatekeepers), [even] among the chief men, [having] wards one against another, to minister in the Beit YHWH (יהוה).
26:13 And they cast goralot, as well the small as the great, according to the Beit their avot, for every gate.
26:14 And the lot eastward fell to Shelemyah. Then for Zekaryah beno, a wise counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.
26:15 To Oved-Edom southward; and to his banim the Beit Asuppim.
26:16 To Shuppim and Hosah [the lot came forth] westward, with the gate Shallecheth, by the causeway of the going up, ward against ward.
26:17 Eastward [were] six Leviim, northward four a day, southward four a day, and toward Asuppim two [and] two.
26:18 At Parbar westward, four at the causeway, [and] two at Parbar.
26:19 These [are] the divisions of the sho'arim (gatekeepers) among Benai Kore, and among Benai Merari.
26:20 And of the Leviim, Ahiyah [was] over the treasures of the Beit Elohim (אלהים), and over the treasures of the dedicated things.
26:21 [As concerning] Benai Laadan; Benai the Gershonite Laadan, chief avot, [even] of Laadan the Gershonite, [were] Yehieli.
26:22 Benai Yehieli; Zetham, and Yo'el his brother, [which were] over the treasures of the Beit YHWH (יהוה).
26:23 Of the Amramites, [and] the Yitzarites, the Chevronites, [and] the Uzzi'elites:
26:24 And Shevuel Ben Gershom, Ben Mosheh, [was] ruler of the treasures.
26:25 And his achim by Eliezer; Rehabyah beno, and Yeshayah beno, and Yoram beno, and Zichri beno, and Shlomit beno.
26:26 Which Shlomit and his achim [were] over all the treasures of the dedicated things, which Davyid ha melekh, and the chief avot, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and Sarim ha tzava , had dedicated.
26:27 Out of the spoils won in battles did they dedicate to maintain the Beit YHWH (יהוה).
26:28 And all that Shemuel the seer, and Shaul Ben Kish, and Avner Ben Ner, and Yo'av Ben Zeruyah, had dedicated; [and] whosoever had dedicated [any thing, it was] under the hand of Shlomit, and of his achim.
26:29 Of the Yitz'harites, Chenanyah and his banim [were] for the outward business over Yisrael, for officers and judges.
26:30 [And] of the Chevronites, Hashavyah and his achim, men of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, [were] officers among them of Yisrael on this side Yardan westward in all the business of YHWH (יהוה), and in the avodah (service) of ha melekh.
26:31 Among the Chevronites [was] Yeriyah the chief, [even] among the Chevronites, according to the generations of his avot. In the fortieth year of the reign of Davyid they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valour at Yatzer of Gil'ad.
26:32 And his achim, men of valour, [were] two thousand and seven hundred chief avot, whom king Davyid made rulers over the Reuvenites, the Gadites, and the half shevet (tribe) of Menasheh for every matter pertaining to Elohim (אלהים), and affairs of ha melekh.
